Christmas Comes
But Once Per Year?

That’s What You Think!

Christmas did use to come once per year. It expressed being the master of the manor for a day, of rebirth, of sharing. Lucky those days are over. That was before timely existence was made real, made measurable by the current and expanding social relations, before it was commodified. Where once we heard sanctimonious terms like “Merry Christmas” and “Happy Holidays”. Now we see glimpse of the great and dutiful change as the non-exclusionary tunes of “Merry Seasonings” and “Happy Honda Days” fill as heir.

The globalization or spread of Capitalism necessitated both the political correctness movement and its complementary response - the former to make known fragmentary culture and the latter to pave the road to total domination over those cultures.  No matter where a culture may have been - tasked somehow to promoting the social relations, their role will now be more rational, unified in purpose. Seemingly-competing expressions are really complementary after all, are just different paths to the same expanding reality. But who needs conflict?  Why limit the holy to the ghetto of one day when what they always really sought can be everywhere and all the time?  When you sell yourself and then buy to fill the void - Capital social relations in its magnificent essence - separations of irrational culture only get in the way. Kwanzaa is the gravel road cleared for Capital by black separatists to sooth the void felt by one geographic sale. Chanakuh - provided by those self-afflicted with Judaism - shows that more than one day of celibation works well enough. The imperial road of shattered glass felt underfoot Islamic Jihad really makes clear that self-sacrifice is a duty as well as rite. All imply the paving of life into a common and daily chore... of the transformation of the mystically suggested fragments into the rationally survived whole... into lifetime. Passing the time is no longer going to be a mere pastime. Capital is going to be the time of your life. It already expresses what you do unconsciously on a daily basis now.  It’s what you all do in so many ways together in the commerce of people, the rationing-out of the minimal, and the flow of all this wasteful decor. However, from now on, make no mistake about it...  all days - holiday or not - shall feel the rational union yearned for, the transition of all that partial celebration, of all that Capital in embryo:

Sharing is a meeting.
Gift is exchange.
Glee is transcript.
Joy is mandatory.
Family is market.
Creativity is duty.
Friends are fellow receptacles.
You are an advertisement for Capital.
Culture is a means to your ends.
Music is the sound of this daily commerce.
Sing praise. Sing the new carols. Sing forever. Sing now!

Welcome to the world of tomorrow today, to the everyday, to human capital, to you.

Get busy!   Celebrate busy-ness.
There's no vote.  Get used to it!
